Chitrakoot is a small town in UP
known as one of the important hindu pilgrimage places in north and central
India. In celebrated hindu epic Ramayana, it is stated that Lord Rama spend his
period of exile at this place.
Ramcharitamanas (Portrayal of Ramayana in poetic and devotional form) was written here by Saint Tulsidasji. Also it
is famous for Mount Kamtanathji because of its spiritual significance.

The ashram is spread over 40
acres, located at the outskirts of the city at the banks of Mandakini river
(considered to be spiritual offshoot of holy river Ganges). The ashram was
established with the purpose of providing a peaceful and religious resting place
for pilgrims who visit the area as well as to extend the mission objectives of
SRLKT in this region.
